maylevesque Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Hello, I met a guy randomly on Facebook and we started talking about 4 months ago... At the time, he lived in a completley different country and I was moving to that country/city in a couple months. We talked for three months almost everyday on facebook and messaging and we both felt like we connected alot. We discussed everything from relationships, to dating to life and for those 3 months we consistently kept in contact. If we hadnt talked in a few days, he made sure to always contact me. I felt like I really really liked him and was sure that in person it would be the same. Now, I moved to the same city for school as I had known I was going to about 5 weeks ago. The guy is pretty busy with full time work and a soccer team so I know hes not always available. Anyway, about a week after I arrived we scheduled a couple hours to meet for the first time. The date went great; he kept saying he was so happy we meet in person, that I was so attractive and seductive etc. and kept staring at me throughout the whole date. We intensely kissed and a bit more, Then he had to go early, as he stated for his friends and we agreed to meet two days later... this never happened. After our date he messaged me saying how he had a great time and wished he could stay longer. Its been more than a month since that date and his communication with me started to decline. I asked him a few times about meeting up at which he was always sick, had training, or a friend was in town. Its been a week since we contacted each other and before, he never let it pass this long without talking. I feel perhaps I was pushy in scheduling another date, I am so confused why everything changed. I truly thought we had a connection and when we met in person it was so good. Why has he vanished, and should I just give up stop talking to him?
losangelena Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 In my experience, there can be a big difference between what a guy says and what he does. So often we get caught up in the romance of what a man tells us (we're beautiful, they want to take care of us), but it's important to watch what they DO instead. This guy can tell you you're beautiful until he's blue in the face, but if he doesn't back those words up with action (asking you out, texting or calling), then it's okay to keep a skeptical attitude. It's hard and it sucks, but best to try and temper your emotions until you get a sense of his true intentions. In this case, it seems as if he never really had any.
Zahara Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Connection over FB and a connection face to face are two vastly different things. Just because you get along amazingly well over technology, it doesn't always translate well when you finally meet. He probably wasn't that into you when he met you in person. And that happens. And don't project the connection you had because not everyone is going to feel the same way you do. And yes, if he has vanished, let it go. Don't chase someone that is giving you signs that he isn't that invested or interested.
Thegreatestthing Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Yes you should give up on talking to him,he has lots of excuses why he can't see you all which indicate low to no interest, maybe he didn't feel any chemistry in real life.
