Trotters Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 what does "mistaking love for infactuation" mean?. Is it thinking youre in love when its just infactuation or is it love when you think its infactuation?. Thanks
Ronni_W Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 To me, infatuation is part of the early stages of a relationship, where *everything* is perfect and the object of our infatuation/affection/love has not even a blemish, nevermind deep-rooted flaws, defects and failings. Love encompasses a more "eyes wide open" perspective, where there are no -- or at least, far fewer -- distortions, illusions, delusions. We see that the person is only human, after all, and comes with her or his own baggage, limitations, inaccurate or misguided beliefs, past trauma and karma that they still have to work out...and we're STILL okay with the all of him or her. Infatuation, from my view, just keeps the person on a pedestal...and keeps our expectations for and of them at such an unrealistic, unreasonable and high level that they can never actually attain or fulfill for us. Something like that.
