I always loved really dramatic makeup. I'm au naturale enough of the time. When I went out, I turned it up. But it's true it's not for everyone or reflective of everyone's personality and that a lot of guys do not like it. But others love it.

I prefer women who look good without much or any makeup. And no matter how good they look, I dislike a lot of makeup as it either seems obviously fake or cheap. It's fine to use it lightly for emphasis - I'm not against makeup per se, and occasionally even something dramatic when the occasion calls for it.

From that link, it's a mix to me in that some look better with it, & some look better without. The third girl looks really cute without it.

I've been wondering if the reason I don't get many messages with online dating is because I don't wear a lot of makeup. I do wear all of the makeup like eyeshadow and the rest of it.

I don't know. It really depends on the girl. Some women look bad with a lot of makeup, some look great. It all depends.

 

I really mostly care about personality and the other stuff to be honest. How much makeup she wears is pretty low on the list of things I care about.

imo you cannot ask men this question because to most of them "natural" means we have some makeup on. very few guys can actually figure out what we have on, and i have had many men say i look great "natural" and i have foundation on. they don't know unless there is a huge difference between how you look with it and without. and if kim kardashian was walking down the street most men would find her "attractive" and she wears tons of makeup. don't be lazy. put on some makeup, and look your best for photos. just walk down the street one day with no makeup and another day with tons. you get more attention when you wear it and look good.

Your logic is impeccable, but your conclusion is flawed.

 

Being attracted doesn't necessarily mean you have to wear make-up. Previously as you know I've extolled the virtues of "good pics" but that doesn't mean a model-like shot with a ton of make-up. It means good quality, well lit, good colours, nice background, nice smile. I'd much rather see a makeup-free smile at the top of a mountain in hiking gear, than a blurry selfie in a public bathroom or a duck-face in a nightclub with your drunk friend leaning on you. Amount of make-up has nothing to do with it. What matters is that it's a good picture, that makes her look interesting and shows someone I'd like to get to know.

I don't wear makeup so I attract guys who have a strong preference for not wearing it. One of the guys told me, "Makeup is for ugly girls. That's fine for those who need it, but I'd prefer if you didn't wear it." when we were talking about it (because I was waiting and waiting for my friend to get ready because she does artistic like makeup that takes forever, so we could go on a double date) I've had other guys I've been out with tell me they prefer no makeup as well when it was natural to bring up.

 

 

I didn't wear makeup in my profile photos when I did online dating because I wasn't going to be misleading.

 

 

Do what's comfortable for you.

 

 

Lots of makeup, some natural looking makeup, no makeup. There are guys for anything.
