Armegoggon Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I don't know how to say it in one word but what I mean is suppose playing the guitar is one of my favourite hobbies (not realistically for me but this is just an example). Is it a good or bad idea to write all over my profile about "guitars"? So are dating profiles good when they only show interest for one thing and obsessively for one thing?
Assasda Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I dont think your profile should be about one thing. Everyone likes someone that is multidimensional But if you have a passion definitely let it be known. 1
mapofyourhead Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 If some guy only talked about one thing in his profile, I wouldn't be interested, even if he looked like a model. So, no, I don't think it'd be a very good profile. Gotta have some variety.
Allumere Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...would bore me to death or flag as no way are we compatible. Ex: When the first pic of a guy is him holding a fish it does nothing for me but I may keep reading looking...when all the pictures are of fishing and his profile focuses on that I run because I know that all activities will revolve around fishing. Hey, I like to fish. I can take my ugly stick and a worm and catch croakers off the pier all night....but not every night or every weekend.
PegNosePete Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 You should show a rounded personality and a variety of interests. 2

"Obsessive" isn't really an attractive trait. Having a passion for something might be, though. If you can spin it that way then that's more positive... but if you only have one hobby then that will limit who will find out attractive.
Author Armegoggon Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 I saw a profile of a cosplayer who dresses very similarly in each picture. Yet she still gets a lot of messages (according to the site tracker)? How is that realistic? She hardly put any information on her profile too. Sorry for late post.
