There are different levels of severity. In social settings, people with mild Asperger's often miss social and emotional ques unless they have learned to notice. They can hold a conversation if the topic is something of interest, but tend to be shy/quiet regardless. They also don't handle sarcasm well.

I read that its easier to miss in women because they usually have milder symptoms.
