Being married to a good person doesn't equal a happy marriage. In the end, there needs to be love, period.

OP, please check out these two books:

The Sex-Starved Marriage by Michele-Weiner Davis

His Needs, Her Needs by Willard Harley

They may help you avoid the biggest mistake of your life. It's not selfish to want happiness for yourself; it's perfectly rational. The weird thing is that it's probably more likely you will achieve happiness in your marriage - by working on yourself and changing yourself - than chasing happiness from an external source. You're in the affair fog.....to prefer somebody else's cheater over your own good, faithful husband. You can build satisfaction and happiness back in to your marriage and they payoff is immense. Your husband is willing to forgive; perhaps this A can serve as the wakeup kick in the pants your marriage needs.

I'm trying to see if anyone has been in a similar situation, good or bad.

Yes, by the thousands. What you're going through is classic and textbook. That's why there are 2 books above that describe your predicament exactly, along with its causes and possible cures. Please read them.
