I met this girl on POF and she checked me out first. Anyways, I asked her about how she likes her job right off the bat. She's a medical assistant and after my mom passed I really respect that profession. Anyways, she then asked me about my job, and while I was working through at temp agency, I am not currently employed. I did tell her that I am currently employed at the job I used to work at. It's easier than telling her the truth: that I walked out on the job due to depression and not really wanting to be there. My mom passed about a year ago. Anyways, I figure if I can get a job here soon, then this girl will probably never know the difference. I have enough money to hold me over for awhile. I have applied to some jobs, just not a ton. I also just graduated school in May. I know it's wrong but I know she won't be interested otherwise.

Opinions?

If your connection is real over messages you wouldnt need to lie, by the time she asked you could be honest about being between jobs. I would not screen out a guy I otherwise clicked with for that reason. No further details needed for now.

But yes, that is wrong and sucks.

I don't think that's ok.. you could say a change of personal circumstances caused you to lose the job and elaborate later in your relationship I guess.

Why lie?

What is wrong with temping while you look??

What kind of a foundation are you establishing with a lie?

Saying you are between gigs but looking is not as much of a stigma as it was before 2008.
