Cop Cheaters

Narcisissts typically show strongly in five of the following nine areas:

1. Feels grandiose and self-important;

2. Is obsessed with fantasies of unlimited success, fame, fearsome power or omnipotence, unequalled brilliance (the cerebral narcissist), bodily beauty or sexual performance (the somatic narcissist), or ideal, everlasting, all-conquering love or passion;

3. Firmly convinced that he or she is unique and, being special, can only be understood by, should only be treated by, or associate with, other special or unique, or high-status people (or institutions);

4. Requires excessive admiration, adulation, attention and affirmation - or, failing that, wishes to be feared and to be notorious (Narcissistic Supply);

5. Feels entitled.

6. Is "interpersonally exploitative", i.e., uses others to achieve his or her own ends;

7. Devoid of empathy.

8. Constantly envious of others and seeks to hurt or destroy the objects of his or her frustration.

9. Behaves arrogantly and haughtily. Feels superior, omnipotent, omniscient, invincible, immune, "above the law", and omnipresent (magical thinking). Rages when frustrated, contradicted, or confronted by people he or she considers inferior to him or her and unworthy.

 

Affairs provide these people with narcissistic supply -- a sort of food to keep their egos inflamed. Many cops I know strap their egos on their hip every day and having that gun and badge make them feel better than everyone else. Don't get me wrong, I know plenty of extremely mature, very nice cops so this is not always the case. As far as attorney's, I'm finding more and more of them have these qualities too.

 

The cop I was involved with and his attorney wife have made my life a living hell for the past year and a half. He has strong narcissistic tendancies and I believe she is full-blown narcissisistic. To encite the wrath of people who believe they are so much better than others is like calling down the wrath of God Himself. She believes herself to be such an incredible woman that no husband of hers would ever want to cheat so she has out and out lied about me all over town calling me a slut and a whore and saying that I aggressively pursued her husband (not true). I have never even cheated on a boyfriend before. And to remind you all, this woman had sex with a married cop on her desk at the DAs office while she was married to her first husband. It's been aweful. I keep thinking: What have I done?

I have been married for 17 years and I'm 37 years old. Married to a cop. I just found out the last 2 years of my marriage , he has been seeing someone else. Everytime he says he is out he has been with her. He even takes her around all his other cop friends, even though he has a wife. Found this out In January, gave him a second chance, and since January, they been seeing each other again. All his friends cheat. I lost my job for depression, and he calls me a lazy bum. So not all cops , but I know my cop is 100% trash scummy cop
