Fallen_Angel Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I apologize profusely if this is TMI. Do any of you who use oral contraceptives experience "breakthrough bleeding"? I've been bothered by it a bit more often than I'd like - lately it's been every other month, right before my period. Mostly I chalk it up to stress. Seems like some months are worse than others. I know I should talk to my gyno; maybe a stronger pill would solve this? Or maybe better stress management?? (I know this post would probably be more fitting in the Sexuality/Reproductive Health Forum, but amongst all the posts about hot sex and bjs and silly questions, this seems like a mood killer!)
Butterfly28 Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I get breakthrough bleeding every month on the BCP's too. It can be a number of factors: Missing the pill on a regular basis (one here and there, sometimes two) but making up for it. (i,e doubling/tripling up) Cervical dysplasia stress fryable cervix the list goes on.... If you are experiencing breakthrough bleeding, although its normal to experience it on OCCASION, it may also be a sign of more serious problems that I think you should see your GYN about just to rule anything else out. Good luck.
