Hey Girl I've messaged a few times wanted my number and now she wants to chat on the phone.

I'm quite shy about phone calls and I prefer texting and meeting in person.

Would a girl see it as a red flag or a turn off if I mentioned being shy about phone calls?

Get over it & call her. It can be a brief conversation. Hi. I'm not much of a phone person & don't have a lot of time right now. You asked me to call so this is me calling. Wanna get together next Tuesday for coffee?

Most of the skills and chemistry you need to make an in person date successful apply to the phone as well. Come up with 6-7 interesting things to talk about, file them away in the back of your head, call her up and practice. If a line of conversation comes to an end pluck a new one out of your file and continue on. Give her an hour then you're busy and have to go.

One hour is a little long, especially if the OP is insecure about phone conversations. I think what I wrote would be acceptable but maybe 15-20 minutes would be ideal.

I can relate to not being comfortable talking to a potential date on the phone. It's not the same as face to face interaction and any potential awkward silences are more awkward.

However in saying that, I've still done it and it is never as bad as you may think. I actually always had a good feeling and a good reaction after talking over the phone. Women who want to talk to you are usually the chatty sort anyway, so you'll possibly be fighting to get a word in edgeways

Just relax and go with it, you'll be fine.
