Author Gaeta
I have no car, and I still get dates. Explain that. I have been on plenty of dates with men that had no car. The issue is not the type of car he's driving whether it's an economic or luxurious car, it's the poor condition of the car he's driving. I don't get you guys. We have threads on here from women talking about should they date men not as successful as them, that don't earn as much as them, or are not as educated as them, and no one goes up in a roar calling them shallow but I comment on a run-down car and suddenly I am a b*t!ch. I don't think you're a bitch, Gaeta, I just think you expect a man's ride to be clean and clearly, that's a dating standard. Even if a person doesn't agree with it, frankly, a clean car isn't that high standard. I've seen worse. I've known girls who want a guy's teeth to be a certain way. And it's what you expect. You can do whatever you please with the info. For what I'm used to, Gaeta, your standards are pretty much...well standard. I just think you view his rusty car as a sign of how he takes care of himself(and at 49, I can understand, but did you ask him why his car is like that. Maybe getting a backstory could be understandable. The economy is unpredictable after all.) But if it's a dealbreaker, nothing else you can do but date someone of your standards, and let him find someone who doesn't mind his flaws.
preraph
When I worked at a dealership, the saying was "The bigger the wheels, the smaller the *****." I think that's probably true.
Natsu21
15 pages in and no one has stumbled on the obvious follow up question... "Do you like enormous penises?" Because by the laws of the cars men drive, this man is hung like an elephant. Seriously though...it depends on why he drives it. If he drives it because he gives all his free/disposable money to charity...maybe. Something like this can be a "broken windows" thing, and evidence of issues elsewhere. Or he may just not like cars and taking care of them that much. Myself, I have not washed or vaccummed my car in two years. I have better things to do with my time and energy. To be honest, I just don't care that much. Cars are a money pit and often break down and have mechanical issues no matter HOW well you maintain them, and I drive them till they drop. That's just my preference for automobiles. You may not be compatible with this guy. Depends on what you care about. Is it shallow to care what someone drives? Yes. It's okay to be shallow sometimes, though. It's all about your values and preferences and how compatible you are with others. My car, when it did exist, was a freaking Dodge Neon, 2002 version. Just imagine what that means for me Also, im black soooooooo...

Natsu21
Natsu wishes he had a rusty old car. Not the correct perspective for a good answer. Wait! Would imply a driver's license, which is an ID. 'Splain. Didn't have one. When you live in a rural area, most kids were taught by their parents at 12-13 years old. I was never taught, so I usually stole the keys when my mom wasn't looking and took it for a joyride, teaching myself. So I never had a license, I just drove a car no one else did. I'm sneaky like that.
Natsu21
I called it my car because for years I've been trying to get my mom to give it to me. The person she gave it to is now paralyzed and unable to drive. But nope. No neon for me. And it's shiny and red and old and I wanna tinker with it. I can't even buy it from her. I'm also getting a phone installed in the house in my name, in my brother's room I'm just doing it for the bill. In case anything goes wrong, I got it settled.

I return to the subject at hand with this: Rusty cars are like hijacked threads. Nobody likes them, not even the people who drive them.

IronZ
Are you worried he might be poor or something? I mean if that kind of thing matters to you I guess it's important.. it's really a personal thing.
Natsu21
Are you worried he might be poor or something? I mean if that kind of thing matters to you I guess it's important.. it's really a personal thing. Generally speaking, girls who were brought up well-off tend to befriend and stay with people who are the same way. That's why I stopped dating middle and high class chicks. If a chick is concerned with materials to a huge extent, I usually avoid them.

I mean if that kind of thing matters to you I guess it's important.. it's really a personal thing. Not at all. I don't give importance to what they do or how much they earn. It would just embarass me to have it parked in front of my home. I have been on dates with men with old cars and it's fine. It's not that his car was old. It was about it being beat up. dynamicboy
This guy is very entertaining. I LOL a lot watching his vids. I am sure they are not faked, but he probably cherry picks what to show. This one, he doesn't even talk to them Interesting! and funny! I remember I watched a TV documentary, it was a research done in London. First scene: An old man arrives to a restaurant driving an old Ford Fiesta, dressing poor clothes. Women on other tables notice and criticize him badly, even making fun out of the poor dude, they even make fun and abuse the poor battered Ford Fiesta laughing at it. The old dude soon leaves, goes to a place nearby where he quickly changes clothes, now styled and brand new designer clothes. Then he picks a flashy fancy Jaguar car and drives to the same restaurant, parks the Jaguar where he recently parked the beater. Now, a totally different change in the same women "Oh, look, classy man, he is attractive, what a gentleman, the way he walks, cute, handsome" Things like this. It was the very same guy! A bit groomed but the very same dude! And this is a research done in the US: Does driving a Porsche make a man more desirable to women? Read: "According to the researchers, women found a man who chose to purchase a flashy luxury product (such as a Porsche) more desirable than the same man who purchased a non-luxury item (such as a Honda Civic)."
