Georgia2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I just wondered why do men stick their tongues out on their profile picture when doing online dating? I don't find it attractive it all. I instantly loose interest when I see a picture like that. When I see pictures like that I find myself laughing at them wondering if they are trying to impersonate Miley Cyrus. I know they aren't doing that but that funny thought always pops in my mind when I see a man sticking his tongue out.

I think it's a sign that really, they find this whole thing utterly ridiculous and they don't really take any of it - including themselves - seriously.... That's just the way I read it, but then, that's FB, not a dating site.....

You obviously haven't seen my profile, and I can't even begin to wonder why any grown man would want to do this, unless of course they are letting you know that they want to lick you??????? That said, I don't see men profiles, but women are quick to let me know that my profile is "refreshing" due to the detail, transparency, classy pics, and how well put together it is in general. On the flip side to what you have brought to our attention, I can't help but notice that a lot of women only seem to post head shots (yes I know why), go out of their way to have the boobs in front of the camera, pics of them with their cat/dog, and some provocative pose, whilst the profile in general lacks content of importance. The assumption that men don't read the profiles, is a false one and you will have a better chance of making me message you, if your profile has more to offer than just salacious pics. 1

No woman in her right mind would contact men online who: stuck out their tongues, or posted pics of themselves in thongs or bikini briefs, sitting in a hot tub, or in a bar drunk with their friends or surrounded by scantily clad women, holding one gun in each arm (how does holding 2 shotguns say to a woman, "come hither, I'm safe to be around"), or a selfie on their bed, or selfie on their couch with their shirt pulled up to reveal their rather large beer belly. There's some strange men out there in online dating land. It's definitely a jungle out there. 1

Out of over 1,000 friends on Facebook (probably half of which are men), I have never seen any man do this.

I have others take a photo of me. I took 1 selfie in my life, I felt like such a douchebag after. Never again. 1

I never contacted any of them because I thought they were childish and stupid. However, I would still be interested to know why they did this ?
