I was in my mid-40's when I divorced my second husband. Alas, I found that most of the good and interesting dateable men of my age, were still chasing the 30 somethings, while I was left with the crumbs.

Example, last Christmas, while dining with my visiting son and grand son, I had the bad luck of seeing my first Ex H walk through the dining room with his SO of many years. She is very good looking, and was carrying a single red rose. I and most of the people could not help but notice, that this was a couple very much in love. Then my SO of 5 years had to open his mouth and say "I'll bet she is a hooker" That crumb is now my Ex crumb.

I'm so sorry that happened to you!

Throw that off. Let it go! Use your strengths and and show yourself what you're made of. I bet that confidence alone will catch more eyes than you think. :)

I don't think that article praised anything. The writer of the article is 55 years old... and he is condescendingly throwing the 40 somethings a bone(er)... wrapped up in feel good language... like women need to be given that pat on the head? ya right... ooo! I'm so thrilled he finds women 13 years younger than him attractive (yawn).

A more enlightened read can be found in the comments to that article... and more express my sentiments about the author of it and the topic.

... sorry to bust your bubble. but seriously. Perhaps post articles written by men who actually like women?? Or just post pics and stories about women being awesome who aren't also busy justifying their existence to men. That'd be great.

Here's a couple of my favorite 40 something athletes doing what they do best...

.... forgot to add... all of the women on the list are married or dating men close to their own age or a few years younger...

Those men are also very good looking too. ;) So, no need to settle ladies...

Seems they aren't sitting around feeling 'grateful' to get any 'ol guy they can get... ie a much older guy or some guy who slept with just about any young thing that walked before he met them. lol

I am well past my 40's. I have my sons, their families, and several good friends, so living alone no longer bothers me. other than missing the penis.
