Cristo Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Thin women are "in" because its what socaity tells us we should want if you look back to the middle ages plus size women were all the rage its a social fad nothing more..bigger women are popular in those countries cause to become overweight its believed one must be rich in today's world thats clearly not true..but yet again another example of a weight based social fad.. I've been to many developing countries. Large women are not popular anywhere. Basically, if women can shoot me down because I'm short, I'm free to shoot women down because they're fat. 1

Being overweight isn't any different than smoking cigarettes or some other unhealthy habit that you are able to control. Some people want a healthy partner that doesn't have impulse control issues.

Good point the funny thing is when some one and im sure alot here would date a smoker but not a over weight person why they are both just as bad if we are looking at genuine "health concerns" but yet one is more visible then the other so thats why I call BS on alot of folks when they start to sing this tune..

People used to be much smaller than they are today. Even those larger ladies weren't as big as many women are today. Marilyn Monroe is often mentioned as an example but she was in fact British size 8 (whatever that is in the US) with an hourglass figure. Marilyn Monroe real dress size, measurements, weight? really size 16? Hourglass has always been revered, ie curves as opposed to rolls of fat. I think it's disgusting how being fat is being normalised. In the UK something like 60% of kids are overweight. Edited October 18, 2014 by a LoveShack.org Moderator 1

Yes, I'm sure. Just because you see fat women with men in other countries doesn't mean they're desirable. Fat women make up over half of the women in the US and women certainly do not have trouble finding men here.

I don't believe this for a minute. Every now and then something like this is put forward, whether it's based on fat statues from ancient time, paintings, or whatever else. The truth is that what society praises isn't the same thing as what men find attractive, this is true now and it was true then. Don't believe me? Look at the difference between the skinny catwalk models that modern society would have you believe all men want, and compare them to the girls in mens magazines like nuts, or porn videos. It becomes very obvious the skinny models are the ideal of the media, not the men. Guys like now the same things they always have. Hourglass figure, curves but not fat. There's variation for individual preference within that, but I don't believe that all a majority of guys used to prefer fat over hourglass any more than I believe a majority of guys now would pick stick thin over hourglass. The media is lying to you.

The media is lying to you. I was referencing the middle ages mostly when the standard of beauty among the upper class was plus size women. I could be wrong but I was rather sure that it was. Im not sure their exact sizes and I do agree the hour glass frame is appealing over obese ive always thought Marilin Monroe was gorgeous. But lets be honest here alot of men today would call her fat thats the sort of mentality I cannot understand. And what has alot of women other wise fine women developing eating disorders and image problems. And yes that is a fault in today's society no one will convince me otherwise. End of the day even if a person is over weight they still deserve the same level of basic human respect others receive if you don't like it look the other way simple as that..
TigerLilly78 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Typical BS. "Socaity" does not tell me who I find attractive, my penis does. Maybe for you ive seen men call other wise healthy size women fat normal size women media gives us all this image we must desire and anyone who doesn't fit into that is then shot down as undesirable you don't believe me? Lets flip the switch how about short men why do women not want to date them? is it our vaginas telling us not to? no its cause its not the social norm for a women to be with a man shorter then her..
