Superman2024 Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 I've been trying all sorts of ways to meet women but I'm not having much luck. I'm finding it incredibly difficult since I've been out of school for several years and I'm not the bar type. My faith is quite important to me so I need to find someone else who shares the same values. I'm also in a rural area which doesn't help. Initially I wanted to find someone at church but the young adults are virtually non-existent there. One girl I was interested in there wasn't looking for a relationship at the moment because she wanted to focus on college. I've been doing OLD for about 6 months (I've tried 5 different sites) but that's going nowhere fast. I've asked some friends and relatives if they know anyone but that hasn't lead to anything yet. I've seen Meetup.com mentioned on here before. So far I haven't found any appealing groups in my area. Recently I joined a small group for young adults at a larger church, but there's no one there I would date (most are married or in a relationship). I do have some other relatives that I haven't asked yet. They are female cousins of mine in their early to mid 20's. I mostly just see them at holidays (3-4 times a year) and I'm friends with them on FB. I've thought about sending them a message on FB asking if they know anyone who's single. I've actually looked at their friend's list and there are several attractive prospects I've seen who appear to be single. Would it be weird for me to ask about them?
Mister Zen Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 You want to meet people, yet you are closed off the most ways of meeting people. Sounds like you're causing your own problem. Also, move to a new place.

Also if you want to meet Christian singles how about Christian music concerts, ? Just a couple of ideas.... Good luck 1

There's no way I'm moving since all my family lives around here. Well, there you go then. Also, there is no connection between going to bars and being Christian.

The problem why you cannot find anyone is because the entire world of dating is now Online in a fantasy world of wierd and insecure people. If you want to find a girl just join PoF or OKC and you will quickly find you have plenty. The reason you cannot find them is because meeting someone in public has become a myth and taboo these days, people have 0 social skills. 1

I've tried 5 different sites including POF & OKC. I'm currently active on Match, Christian Mingle, POF, & OKC. Zoosk is just a mess full of fake profiles. I always see attractive and interesting prospects but all I'm finding are a bunch of flakes who aren't serious about anything. It's like they're on there for an ego boost or they're afraid to commit to anything because they think something better could always come along. I did attend another church a few times with some friends. That's where I joined the small group from. It was for young adults so there was good potential for meeting someone there, but it just didn't work out that way. I'm leaning towards asking my cousins if they know anyone or asking about some of their FB friends I find interesting.

The best girls I have been with are atheist Go out of your comfort zone and stay away from the most attractive girls on OLD they are the worst for potential! There are plenty of girls on online dating you just need to give them a chance.
