adrian77 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 What do men and women prefer? I'm not talking morbidly obese but I would take a man who could lose a few lbs than someone too skinny.
LoneIsland Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I prefer a well padded woman who looks like there's enough on her to make bouncing babies. She would be soft and nice to touch. A good looking russian woman could do it for me. They are often padded as a natural defence against the winter cold. They are not fat, just well protected for a tough environment. I see in them extra vitality.
acrosstheuniverse Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I don't really care either way to be honest. I dated one guy who was really thin, and at first his arms being like matchsticks was a bit of a turn off. However within like a week or so I was into him enough and fancied his face and height enough that it didn't bother me at all ever again. I was madly into him. I have also dated guys with a bit more extra padding, though never anybody overweight. I have to say all in all I prefer the extra padding, I like big arms and nice necks and stomachs, but don't really like the muscular gym look so I'd say I definitely err on the side of a few extra pounds.
dichotomy Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Too skinny - break like tooth pick. I need cushion for the pushin....
somedude81 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Most women with really big boobs are a bit overweight. Odds are if a woman is too skinny, she's going to have small boobs. The choice is obvious.
Haerts Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I've been with both and at the end of the day, it doesn't matter too much. I do have to admit that I loved the extra pounds on my ex's belly though. It was so nice to lay on and touch. hahaha
No Limit Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Definitely a guy with the few extra pounds. Obesity is just as much a turn-off for me as is a visible ribcage. If you don't want to exercise, at least eat properly. A good looking russian woman could do it for me. They are often padded as a natural defence against the winter cold. They are not fat, just well protected for a tough environment. I see in them extra vitality. Pretty much the best figure one can have. My mother too is from that corner and her physique shows - not thin, not fat, but sturdy. Too bad my father hailed from a bit more south-east on the map, I'm "just thin" (luckily without visible bones like those girls who go on extra-diets).
Gloria25 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I can't do fat or obese...and, prefer athletic and/or toned.... Who doesn't like looking at a great bod - especially when naked? Also, fitness to me is a sign of strength and I want my guy to be strong enough to take me. And, to me fitness is also about their personality...Shows they take care of themselves...IMO, some people who are lazy about fitness are lazy in other aspects of their lives. And, ultimately, if I'm working hard to keep a rockin' bod for him, it's not fair that he just gives me a sloppy body. In a RL you're doing what you can to please each other, and if you don't care how you present yourself to me, but I do, then that's a one-sided RL if you ask me.
Keenly Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I like smaller girls , the more pale the skin the better.
carhill Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Having dated the gamut, if I had to choose, it would be 'a few extra pounds'. I can condition that response upon being married to someone who demonstrated more than a few extra pounds, and remained static, throughout our marriage and also demonstrated consistent health. About the only negative was occasional self-image issues she battled due to her perception of her weight. I could see that issue occurring with any person, dependent upon their personality. Appearing 'perfect' in the world has little/no bearing upon how one views themselves IMO.
Priv Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Definitely skinny. Well... petite actually. There is so much definition lost when overweight. I can get very attracted to overweight women, but there will always be something I don't like about them naked. Hard to explain.
Imported Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Sounds like you set up the question to get what you want to hear OP. What is "too skinny"? And why not call "a few extra pounds" too fat instead? Just to be fair. In my experience, by early 30's, most overweight people that are just "a few extra pounds", usually get to @50lbs over. At that point, many stay there for the rest of their life. Maybe workout and dieting down 20lbs or so, regaining that and repeat. Some get even bigger. Some drop down and stay down. But generally, if you're fat at 30, you're probably going to be fatter at 40. Now, "too skinny" usually just stays "too skinny". Sure, some women get anorexic. But not as common as too fat. Now, I am not into anorexia, but I'll take a skinny girl over a fat girl any day.
FitChick Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I'd take a guy a bit underweight to one a bit overweight. I think I was imprinted during puberty by all those images of skinny, sexy rock stars.
Weezy1973 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Define too skinny. There are extremely few people that are underweight - I believe it's about 2% of North Americans and most of those are adults between the ages of 18 and 22. Whereas about 1/3 of the population is overweight. Because of this what is a normal, slim person, is often criticized for being "too skinny" by the general public, and especially by those that are somewhat overweight. And, by absolutely no coincidence I'm sure, the slimmest women I've dated were also the healthiest. They exercised on a regular basis, were active in general, and also were very health conscious in what they ate. Whereas the women that were overweight were not nearly as health conscious. Again, that is not a coincidence. For the record, I would rather date someone slightly underweight than slightly overweight. 2
ComingInHot Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 If we're talking a "few" as in 5 to 10 over or under well geez that's me every other year. Sometimes I am 8 to 10 over sometimes 5 to 8 under but always in and around healthy. Even my 'over' is still well within my healthy weight range and my bmi never close to topping my index range. Seems to me if men are really splitting hairs and /or deciding to date or Not to date a woman based on a "few" lbs either way, then maybe Women should start basing our standards on how many grey hairs or length measured in millimeters of your penis as to whether we would date you or not... Seems a tiny bit shallow if that's all you're basing a possible relationship on... 1

No worries, we are not But you have just succeeded in making me superconscious about my first grey hairs on the side. I thought it was unanimously decided that grey hair on a man is sexy and sophisticated by the whole of womankind. At least that is what I am telling myself each morning so I can get out of bed 2

Depending on your height of course - but for most their "healthy weight" is approximately a 15-25lb range, which means you must be fluctuating A LOT on a yearly basis if you're going from underweight to overweight every year. Which can't be healthy.

Sorry sorry, let me clarify within my 'healthy weight range', I hover just under the middle so Ill drop 5 to 8 below THAT weight as well as above* I do agree I fluctuate a wide range but not like you're thinking. Hope that cleared up your confusion*

still_an_Angel Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 I'd rather a bit over than skinny. I have an ex who went on an extreme diet for a part in a film and it felt like he was too fragile, the skinny arms and jutting ribs scared me lol.

I stand corrected... my point stands though - a lot of times what is considered "too skinny" is actually a perfectly normal, healthy weight. 1
todreaminblue Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 i have mainly gone out with physically fit guys.fighters, body builders...strong men....some short some tall....some average...not because i choose them they choose me.....i carry a fair bit of weight......most have said that i am the biggest girl they have dated.....or goen otu with i am not their usual type but they fall in love with who i am....i am a fighter ex soldier....i have a bigger spirit than my body always.......i am physically strong no matter my weight......i haven't dated a guy who is weaker than i am i have dated slighter builds they all had strength only one could dead lift me .. i dont want to be a dominant in a relationship...i want to be the woman who stands beside ........so in that way ...i am normally attracted to stronger men.....or equal strength.....deb

I stand corrected... my point stands though - a lot of times what is considered "too skinny" is actually a perfectly normal, healthy weight. Yep, but it is worse than you were thinking. Recently I started a thread in which I expressed my shock that almost every woman I saw in a popular local bar were significantly overweight. And these were almost all very young women - early twenties. And, honestly, most of the men were fairly buff. It was very confusing.
