I've at been at this job now for about two months and I've always had a connection with this girl. We always chat during breaks and lunch. I really like her but wasn't sure if dating someone from the office was a good idea, it's a fairly small office, about 30 people, and we work pretty closely. But as it turns out, yesterday she got fired, the details of which haven't been told to us by our manager, but word around the office is that she was writing bad things about the company on social media. That kinda raises a red flag for me but I don't want to judge her based on speculation. I'm still attracted to her and at the very least I'd like to find out what she said or wrote to get her fired. I texted her shortly after she left the office yesterday morning saying that if she needs someone to talk to that I'm there for her, she replied with a simple Thx. How would you suggest I pursue her? Do I wait for her to reach out or what? I'm 23 and she's 20 if that makes any difference.

She will never reach out. The Thx message was not a rejection. She's not sure of your intention. Easiest if you just state precisely what your intention is and ensure you don't give the false impression that you are on company business, or only curious about her firing. She doesn't know who's side you are on.

Leave her alone until she gets her life back in order. She just lost her job, her source of income. Dating is probably the least of her concerns at the moment. Meanwhile, all you can think about is how you can get her to date you. Bad timing, and also a little selfish on your part.
