CT98 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Thought it would be beneficial to users of this board to have a thread dedicated to stories of how previously heartbroken users rose above their pain, picked up the pieces and became whole and happy again without their ex partner. I understand that when people move on they tend to forget about this board and go about living their lives, but I get the feeling that some hang around to help the newly heartbroken through the pain. It would be great to see how they did it, what was the big kick up the arse to make them realise they needed to help themselves, after how long was it thay they started to see the light at the end of the tunnel, when they could officialy announce they were 'over it', and how their lives have panned out since. Just an idea, let's see if it takes off.
Reels Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I always suggest that it is not a bad thing or disgraceful that a person has not forgotten about their former/first/major love. It is actually scientific that any person who has remembered an event or anything for every single day during a period, they will continue doing so. Maybe we provide less importance after a while, but that's up to the time.
d0nnivain Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I played a game with myself. I promised myself I wouldn't cry for an hour. Once I mastered that I upped it to 1/2 day, then a day, then 2 days then a week. Eventually I stopped having to remember to play because the acute pain had passed.

I think I'm at that stage now, the acute pain has gone, but there's just this dull ache in my gut and head. I just feel kinda 'irritable'.
