audiojunky Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Hi everyone. I have quite a tough time approaching women. Along with this, I have an even tougher problem finding women that I want to approach. My work schedule is really busy, and when I do actually go out, I can't seem to find anyone, or get the guts up to approach them. This pretty much leaves me dateless and always wishing that I were going out with more women on a regular basis. All of this after a while starts to make you really self-conscious. I start saying, "Is it the clothes that I'm wearing?.. the way I'm standing? the way I'm breathing? Maybe I just look like too much of a nice guy... or maybe it is the way my face is constructed?" Really I'm not a bad looking guy, I work out and try to look nice. Unfortunately I have more of my high school students hitting on me then women my age.. it is horrible! (and no i'd never go that route) Any suggestions from anyone?

My mom just went to one of these things that there are like 20 Guy/ 20 Girls and everyone has 15 minutes to ask questions and then move to the next table. Let me see If I cna figger out what those are called .. Mixers maybe

I tried it once as I work two jobs and am not sure when I would ever have the time to meet someone as well. However, I was totally unsuccessful at this. Didn't even get one nibble. But it was still a fun evening out. Got to talk to different people I normally would never would have. Would I do it again - maybe - if I wasn't too busy B.

My Mom was pretty successful she dated 3 or 4 from that evening.. Do you think women have better results... Did you have a list of questions ready or were you spontaenous ?
tanbark813 Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 If you're feeling self-conscious while you're out there's a good chance that the women wherever you happen to be can pick up on that. Nobody is too busy to go out once a week and say hi to a few ladies.

I was shy and nervous - and maybe the guys did pick up on that. But hey - I have been out of the dating scene for 27 years. So really don't know where to start. I have been separated for nearly a year and have had two coffee dates with men I met through Lava. Was not asked for a repeat performance. The speed dating was my last attempt at 'dating' and haven't made any effort since. Don't know what I am waiting for - perhaps to be asked by someone? Any offers out there? B.

I was just looking for suggestions that might have worked from others in my shoes. i DID read your post. and what i was saying IS....do not go to those places. do you have friends? start hanging out with your friends more. start a gym, play in a league... like SAMI was saying, go out and do something you have fun doing (something social), do it regularly.........Like bowling.....it helps to network yourself, you meet others, who can help you meet others.......
