Was this a stupid thing to do?

I have known a girl at school for a year and a half, I think we may be experiencing mutual attraction as of late, but our relations were kinda meh about a year ago.

 

That was the same time I sent a friends request to her on facebook, cause I figure I know this person so why not. I forgot about the whole facebook thing but today since we seem to becoming closer I thought it odd that I don't see her among my facebook friends and so I check her profile and she had not accepted my friends request from a year ago.

 

I decided to send her a facebook message to jokingly guilt trip her, so bascially I said it seems like I sent you a facebook friend request a while back, why didn't you accept, I thought we were friends, with a joking disappointed emoticon.

 

Now I thought this was in good humor, but she hasn't replied yet and I m starting to get the feeling that she might have taken this the wrong way.

 

Do you guys think sending this message was stupid?

Its not just about whether she likes me or not, I wanna know if it was a stupid thing to do.

 

she added me on facebook, but didn't actually reply to me message, which makes me further suspect that she didn't take it as I intended.

 

This isn't the first time she's taken something the wrong way and it was the reason we were cold in the beginning.

some people dont feel it necessary to answer messages...whatever her reason is for not answering you (maybe she has not got the message yet) who knows what her reason is....dont let her non reply bother you ...it was not a stupid message at all....go on with your life....if she wants to contact you she will ...if she doesnt reply she isnt worth your time spent thinking about it...best wishes......deb

she did get the message that's why she added me on facebook!

This isn't going to be super troubling for me but I can see right now, next time I see her she's gonna act awkward and I ll have to explain that I was joking and she's still probably be upset for a while.

idk, some people are not as into facebook as others. they don't put much stock into it or go on it a lot OR like to be pushed to "keep up" with socializing on there.

ok but what does that have to do with anything? I actually don't go on facebook a lot, what is important he is the content of the message, not whether facebook is **** or not.

As an example, I don't go on mine for months at a time and have more than 50 friend requests pending and have missed messages for weeks. She is either not that into facebook or blowing you off. I was hoping that it was because she's not that into facebook but i guess it could be the other.

 

Also the couple of people who pestered me, wondering why i didn't add them as a friend--never got added by me. So i guess you're lucky she added you.
