Little Miss Unhappy Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Hi I was wondering if someone could give me some advice. I broke up with my boyfriend about 3 weeks ago after a really petty argument, where I ended up kicking him out of my house. We have had similar arguments in the past (although I had been really unfair to him in this particular one) and I though we would just get back together again like we had done before. However the next day he sent me a letter telling me that I had made him really unhappy and destroyed his confidence, and that I wanted something from him he couldn’t or didn’t want to give. He also said he needed time on his own. I saw him a few days later in a local nightclub, and he looked really upset. It was really awkward, so my friends convinced me to go speak to him. He told me he was really sorry for the letter he had sent me, and told me twice that although he said he wanted to be on his own that didn’t mean he had come out on the pull. I told him that he was a great guy and that any girl would be lucky to have him, but he said that he wasn’t interested in anything like that. Later that night one of his friends told me that he had gone home because he was really upset and he thought he had made a big mistake by breaking up with me. I decided to write him a letter the next day, apologising for the argument we had had a few days before (as I had started it), and telling him what a great guy he is. He text me the next day to say thanks and said that he hoped to see me around. A couple of days ago I bumped into him in our local town, and we spoke for a couple of minutes. Although I have been devastated, crying and not being able to eat or sleep, I acted as though I’ve never been happier. He also seemed to be OK too, although he did seem very nervous. I really want to talk to him, and see if we can’t work things out. He means so much to me, and I really miss him. Although we’ve argued a bit in the past, we have always been able to talk to each other about anything and had a good relationship (well I thought so anyway). I don’t know whether or not we still have a chance. Maybe he just said what he said in that letter because his pride was a bit bruised after I threw him out of my house that night, and now he’s had a chance to calm down he does still want to be with me but won’t say because he’s too stubborn (which he is – he’s a Taurus!). Or maybe he really meant it and doesn’t want to be with me anymore. Should I talk to him? Please, please, please help! x PS if I should talk to him and we end up back together should I tell him that that night in the nightclub, after he had gone home because he was really upset, another of his friends (with whom he’s been friends since primary school) started chatting me up? I know that he’d be really upset and annoyed if I told him, but he thinks this guy is a really good friend.
Barby Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Should I talk to him? Please, please, please help! x Yes you should in fact talk to him. Only he can give you the answers you seek. Stop playing games and pretending all things are okay....tell him how you feel and that you miss him, ect, ect! Ask him how he feels about you, do he honestly want it to be over or is there a chance for the two of you to work things out. I say talk to him face to face instead of letters. That way you can get a feel for how he feels better.
