somedude81 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) Of course all of this is being made up after the fact and the forms have been thrown away. They are trying to screw you over. Hopefully those texts can help you. I suggest you read over all the text records you have. If you have any texts that has somebody responding to you that you did the work, then that is clear proof that they are now lying about you. Though if it's just a coworker, it may not be that strong. IfWishesWereHorses Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Consult a lawyer that does this type of work. Call the labor board in your area and ask if they have any resources for you and if it would be in your best interest to file a grievance. 1
Banker Chick Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 All I know is that the company I used to work for had several unemployment claims and the onus was always on the company to provide legit documentation for the reason the employee was terminated. It seemed we had good paperwork and RARELY won the appeal. For example, one employee had a horrible temper and it was documented and we even had a letter from a customer that had been sent to the president of the company complaining about this employee and his violent outbursts. None of it was good enough because they said he had never been officially reprimanded for his temper. He had been verbally reprimanded but nothing in writing. I would appeal. I don't think any of the employees of my old company that won their appeal had attorneys. Maybe it varies state by state, who knows but I'd definitely push back. 1

Most companies give a verbal and 2 write ups before termination. This is how an employer won an appeal with my husband.
