irc333 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Met this woman online, she said she had No children...she lived a good distance away from me, which was one of the reasons I contacted her. Figured she could go a little further with the distance and with me needing to "cast my net" a little wider into the deep blue to find what's out there. I'm going from an hour to an 1.5 distance drive. Anyhow, this way she doesn't have kids tying her down and would likely to be able to schedule weekends or her time without having to concern herself with ballet recitals, soccer practices, and other stuff. Anyhow, we're texting each other, then she reveals to me in the texting that she DOES have children and the reason she lied about it was to circumvent pedophiles. Is this a good reason to lie about whether or not you have children?
CarrieT Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Ummmmm...... No. She is delusional if she believes that is a good reason to state she doesn't have children. Pedophiles don't usually pursue children via their parents. Or, those that do will start inquiring about her children almost immediately. THAT would be her warning sign. But lying about their existence is foolish on her part.
MoreCoffee Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Is it merely foolish or a deal breaker? Flip the script. No difference? Ummmmm...... No. She is delusional if she believes that is a good reason to state she doesn't have children. Pedophiles don't usually pursue children via their parents. Or, those that do will start inquiring about her children almost immediately. THAT would be her warning sign. But lying about their existence is foolish on her part. 1
WesternWizard Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Lying about it won't do any good anyway, because parents have a totally different mentality than those of us who are kidless. Having a kid messes with your brain cells, doesn't matter if you're a mom or a dad. 1
TheyCallMeOx Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 What is it called? A "double-edged sword?" You might be able to circumvent pedophiles, but now that you lie about something potentially huge, don't you risk angering the wrong person and putting everyone at risk? I know that every person attracted to children might not have a "HEY I AM ATTRACTED TO YOUR CHILDREN" sign posted in their shirts, but I'm sure a little bit of education on pedophilia will be more effective than creating some kind of screening process. Ditch her. A woman worth your time won't lie to you. 1
somedude81 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Heh, a woman lying about not having children and saying the reason she lied was to "was to circumvent pedophiles" is the same thing as a man who is obese lying about his weight and saying it's to was" to circumvent cannibals" 3
No Limit Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Perhaps she was drunk when working on her profile? Whatever the case may be, she didn't take the long view, obviously. Still kind of gross. Why would you hide your children? Are people ashamed now to even have them?

Art_Critic Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 she might be married too.. I happen to know of someone who was married and created a profile on Lavalife in the sex area and his profile had no children even though he had one.. the picture he used as his main one he edited out his child... that is messed up...
CaliGypsy Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I would never lie about having kids. That logic seems flawed to me. What I would do...is I would be cautious about who I introduced them too. 2
