I've had two meet ups this week using OLD but both ended as failures. I wanted to try another method so I used tinder. I matched about 10 different women and after exchanging messages I narrowed my choices down to one. She had some videos on youtube and one thing that I found attractive about her was her speaking voice it was very clear. We set up to meet on Thursday.

We met at a coffee house. We started talking and every once in awhile she seemed to have a speech impediment and she started to slur her words. As the conversation went on she was doing it more and more. I felt a bit awkward and I could tell that she sensed it and she started blushing.

Now she won't even reply back to me I guess she feels too embarrassed. It doesn't make sense because she had a nice speaking voice in her videos. I wasn't asking anything that was too personal. Anyone experience or have any ideas what happened?

Thats OLD for you

I have many stories regarding POF and Tinder...

She gets second and third takes on video, and gets to edit out mistakes or imperfections. Even YouTube has its limitations.

At any rate, she's not responding now. It was only one date. Just move on.

FWIW, I always had a phone call with a guy from OLD before agreeing to a date. You screen essentially all this stuff out by doing so. If I didn't want a second date, it was because of lack of chemistry.

Met up last with a gorgeous young lady that was studying accounting at university. We decided to go to a nice steakhouse for dinner and get to know each other a little bit more. I picked up her at her place and the moment I gave her a hug she smelled like weed (remember its the first date) I have a few friends who do smoke up so it didn't bother me really that much.

We arrived at the steakhouse and its a brand new joint that just opened up. Its quite classy and its a full house that night. She decided to order a bottle of wine..this is were things got interesting! She knew I didn't drink wine and barely drank anything. We had dinner and she drank the whole bottle and was pretty much wasted. She started talking about her family and how her dad was in prison since he was caught dealing cocaine and her mom was also in trouble with the government with taxes and fraud. She was talking real loud and I other people could overheard her talking.

I then called it a night...she was sick beside the car in the parking lot. She was rambling a bunch of personal stuff about her life in the car. When I dropped her off she tried to kiss me and invite me in...

lets say I disappeared afterwards

Phones are the old-fashioned version of on-line dating.

You sure her pain pills weren't kicking in, OP??

Point is, now she won't respond. So don't waste your time by trying to contact her again. Just laugh this one off and move on to the next.

This reminds me of a phone convo I had with a lady a day or two before we had our first and only meeting. She was slurring a bit. I think she was on a mood stabilizer or valium or something similar. I say this because she had mentioned having crippling anxiety before and being in treatment. The first meeting wasn't much better.

That was good. Thanks. I don't want to hijack the OPs thread otherwise I would ask you more.

If she was slurring her speech with the meds, she was likely taking a much bigger dose than prescribed which is an issue within itself.

Maybe... but they could have been calibrating/adjusting her dosage too. That happens.

I can't ever remember having a bad date.... but some girls who dated me? That's another story entirely!

1. I'd tell her outright that you noticed she was (doing whatever) and that you thought that her speaking was just fine and clear.

2. Depending on what the impediment was, maybe she was trying to speak too fast and got tongue-tied? Or was nervous and stuttered? I know that I can sometimes speak too fast, which ends up getting me tongue tied.

I was still talking to her off of tinder. I asked her if she had a speech impediment and now I find that she deleted me as a contact. I guess I hurt her feelings. I wonder now if she was just nervous. I know sometimes when I flirt with a girl they'll get chocked up in a similar way. I feel like a jerk now. Should I try and contact her or leave it alone?
