Lipitor11 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I was looking at a family friends Facebook and saw that she made a post on where she was getting married at next year- at some fancy reception and a picture of the Caribbean for their honeymoon. I remember a friend posting on how her husband got a new job making 15 bucks an hour. I'm like wtf? Not only that, she told me this twice already. I know software engineers that make 70 grand a year, but I don't see then posting about their salary! Probably when I get my new car, I'll post a picture up so everyone will get jealous of my SUV!!! Haha. What do you consider bragging?
NGC1300 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Well I don't know how anyone can brag about $15/hr unless they're in high school or something. But yes, Facebook is primarily for average people to convince the world they're celebrities while feeding their egos with 300 fake friends. I think you will see a trend where intelligent people stop using it. Just know that under no circumstance does the picture painted on Facebook reflect what their life is really like. It's just artificial nonsense. 2
bubbaganoosh Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 20 years ago 15 bucks might be something to brag about but now it's 3 gallons of gas. 1

No Limit Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I actually came to pity the people that post everything that's going on in their lives. Still, even after reducing my friend list to friends and aquaintances I got about 120 left and to be honest haven't cared for any stuff posted there (except pictures from a friend who is abroad in the US) in a long time.
pink_sugar Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I was actually going to say people posting photos of the house they just bought or car they just bought seems like bragging to me. I have a friend on facebook that named her car and everything. I'm a bit envous when I see traveling photos, but I don't really consider that bragging as much. That's great you got your first home or a new car, but unless it's a really exciting car, I think those sorts of things can be left off of facebook.
