I had a one night stand for the first time last night. I met him while hanging out with mutual friends at the bars. I've never slept with anyone other than guys I considered long-term dating, and I definitely don't sleep with anyone on the first meeting. This guy was physically attractive (I like his toned chest & arms haha) but I didn't him see him as someone I'd want to date long-term.. Anyways he happened to live in the apartment complex across from mine, so I asked him to come over after we all went home. Anyways, we slept together & he left before sun rise because he had to "be somewhere at 7a.m" At this point, you kinda figured this was definitely ONE night stand.. But here's the deal.. He's in the navy and is getting deployed to the Persian gulf in a few weeks. I kinda want him to be my friend with benefits before he leaves.. Do you think it's weird if I text him? He hasn't contacted me since we slept together so I don't know if I'm breaking some kinda code by initiating contact. Also how do you go about setting up this type of arrangement? What should I text him?

If he lives so close, just invite him over again. Send a text "Wanna watch a movie? My place 8 pm." or something similar. He'll know what's the deal.

Or you can be even more straightforward :D

(I'm not saying he'll definitely come over, but since he leaves in a few weeks anyway, it's not gonna be weird even if he flakes.)

Your best bet is to be straight forward. Inviting him over might give him a mixed signal. It's worth a try, but be prepared to get no response or a lame ass excuse.

You could text him "hey I had a great time last night. Would you be interested in something casual no strings attached until you leave".
