People in search of a relationship would be forced to talk to other people. Humans are naturally social. After the initial shock of no OLD, people would compensate with better social skills.

Assuming the state actually enforced the law there would upheaval against the government for outlawing a social practice with no justifiable cause.

If they didn't enforce the law or handed out the occasional wrist slap, OLD would continue on as usual and possibly develop an even broader acceptance as it would offer not only dating service, but a way to say **** you to the state.

Do you think OLD should actually be outlawed? Because see it doesn't only affect the person who chooses to OLD. Even the people who choose not to OLD are being affected by this because for example, a lot of women are becoming unapproachable as a result both deterioration of social skills in society in general and women having an easy way to filter men who she thinks are unattractive, which she may have actually accepted in real life.

Online forums like Loveshack would become a ghost town.

Other than that I don't see much of an impact.
