As per the title, do you think this is what makes up for or at least contributes to a Domestic Abusers 'persona'?

Because they want their own way & like to control/dominate people?

Kind of but not really. It's that feeling that when they don't listen to you or get you upset, you think that's the only way to solve things; by getting physical with them. It's wrong and I'm guilty of doing this a while back. In the end, he broke it off one day and till this day is still at NC. Once in a while, I do hope we can talk one day.

Absolutely they want their own way.

"my way or the highway" is the school motto at the Domestic Violence Youth Academy.

Abuse is almost always about control. Breaking you down. Exerting dominance.

Contributes to, yes. They need to exert power over others, usually because they feel powerless within themselves and/or powerless to properly and appropriately manage/control their own life and life experiences.

People who give in and allow themselves to be abused...oftentimes feel the same powerlessness AND guilty AND not worthy, deserving of anything better (than to be "made to pay" through being abused).

None of it has to be conscious, of course. But usually when one does become aware of one's own internal motivations and drives, one can then start to fix the dysfunctional, "corrupted" programming/thinking.

Best of luck, DF.
