Hey guys so basically this is whats going on...

I'm 16 and have been in a Long Distance Relationship with my boyfriend (who is also 16) for over 10 months.

Last year was a difficult year for me as i battled with Anxiety problems and i was clinically depressed and suffering from Self Harm. Especially on New Years Eve last year when i had an anxiety attack and tried to commit suicide because i felt lonely, depressed and i felt as though i was living in hell and i couldn't get better- one of the most, worst, traumatic and loneliest times i've ever felt. I stopped getting treatment in July this year and i feel alot more happier although i do feel as though sometimes i have no one to talk to. - moving on!...

Thats why this year i'd love to spend new years eve with my boyfriend either in London together or where he lives (up North) but the question is... do you think its like, 'acceptable' or is it unfair on my parents/family? I haven't asked them yet because i want someone elses input other than theirs. Please help me, Thank You :)

Personally I would not want my 16 year old daughter going to London or "up north" to party with some guy off the internet that she (or more importantly, I) have never met before.

I think that is how your parents will view it too.

i have met him and hes stayed round mine and vice versa loads of times. hes not just 'some guy off the internet' too, my brother played football with him when he was younger, my parents have met him and really like him and i've met his parents and his whole family they're more than happy with me.

It depends. It's nice to have a date for NYE but it's not the end of the world & nothing to get that stressed over if you don't.

If you have met each other & both sets if parents approve without a financial hardship on either side, if you can arrange a date for that night it could be lovely. However, if the parents are against it, you will have to make due with Skype or FaceTime.
