elseaacych Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I have to admit, I am not responsible with my phone. 85% of the time, it is in my handbag, on silent. So I will not respond to texts right away I will respond when I check my phone, which can be hours apart at a time. I tend to let people I am interested in know this. I hate texting, because it leads to protracted conversations. Yet still, every single guy I have gone on dates with is insistent on texting to set up plans or just "talk". "Hey, how's your day?" Hours later... I check my phone... feel bad... "Fine, and you?" I take out my phone, and wait with it next to me. Minutes to Hours later...his response. And so it goes. Probably have it coming to me with the bad texting habits, but why won't people just call??? 2

Probably have it coming to me with the bad texting habits, but why won't people just call??? Personally speaking, I hate texting. But from a guy's perspective, I'll tell you why texting seems easier. With texting, you can focus your attention on multiple girls, without any of them being the wiser, much easier than talking on the phone. But me. I prefer calling. Seems the girls I know prefer texting.
preraph Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I don't know, but I think it's evidenced on this forum that texting relationships using that as their main communication are NOT working well, to get a relationship underway. There's people with too much time on their hands mad because someone with a job doesn't want to text back and forth all day and getting their panties in a twist if they don't hear back all afternoon. It's ridiculous. It's really self-defeating. It's no way to get to know someone. And everyone should have something more productive to do with their time. Jeez.
Dork Vader Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 It's not always that we want to text other girls. I typically text first because I almost always get there number at a time when conversation on the phone is not possible. I tend to not have time to talk until after 8:00PM. So I typically call around then. What's wrong with both?
Smarty Pants Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Texting = no pressure It's an easier way of getting to know someone. I do it, although I would rather talk to someone in person/on the phone.
Assasda Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 "How are you" texts are the worst. I know exactly what OP is talking about. Its the weakest of all texts. Its not easier to know someone. easier way would be to call and talk to them on the phone' 2
