I've seen and heard couples do this and I have no problems with it. I find it funny when one of the little ones objects to it, saying "he's my daddy, he's not your dad mommy!" Mom playfully reassures the toddler that he's the daddy of hs family.

 

I've heard more husbands call their wives "mum" more than the wife calling him "dad."

 

One of my good buddy's father was dad to everyone so we all called him that. He kinda liked it.

Its cultural, it is the standard address among couple's in The Philippines.

it's weird to me. and when i hear parents call their young boys or girls mommy or daddy, it's similar. i don't get it, and if they call each other that during.... well, even more bizarre.

When Mexican's call their girls "mom" it does make you wonder if it contributes to their teen pregnancy rate
