Scarlett_girl Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 you all know my story so I wont bore you with the details..but I've seen the dude at school for the past two days and at first we act like nothing happened and are friendly and then wham...things get awkward sooo..today I'm just going to talk to him about it..lay everything down..tell him that I'm on the fence and that I could go either way, if he wants to just stay casual friends, fine..if he'd like to get to know me better,i'd like that too..the only thing I couldnt take was that we just stopped talking and stuff because of what happened cuz it would be a shame to stop getting to know each other just as we were getting closer... so..ya..wish me luck..i'm very nervous! PS: if it helps..maybe I should have mentioned that I'm turning 21 and he's 18..maybe age is a reason things have gotten awkward if he's not used to this or something like that.......any thought??

I don't know your backstory, but my gut feeling is that usually it is better to avoid heavy relationship discussions when there are more graceful alternatives. Instead, why don't you be bright, friendly and cheerful and invite him to do something light, friendly and fun with you. "Hey, fancy a coffee this afternoon". Or "hey wanna do lunch on Friday". You'll both feel less awkward and you'll very quickly see where you stand by whether he says yes or not and how enthused he is... Just some advice my mum gave me when I was first dating. And it was good advice

I'm happy with this.... he even asks me to meet up after class to do some project work..then after class he says he has other stuff to do so maybe we should meet later...I tell him later is not so good for me cuz I have midterms to study for..maybe another day then..he says fine..we keep talking..then 10 mins later he says..hes gonna do the work later anyways(the work he had asked me to do with him)..so I say fine, i'll do my share on my own..then he gets into that distant mood again..and I just got fed up and said bye.. so i'm gonna rant now! I hate DUMBASS BOYS WHO DONT KNOW WHETHER THEY ARE COMING OR GOING! IF YOU ARE TOO IMMATURE TO TALK ABOUT SEX OR DEAL WITH THE REALITY OF SLEEPING WITH SOMEONE YOU KNOW...THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE HAVING SEX..very simple... that is all i have to say right now.. but i have to add that I feel kinda dirty now...and slightly used..I can deal with being friends with him..i cant deal with an immature guy who doesnt know what to do with me...is confused or stupid....AAAAAAAAAH! so I got some ben and Jerry's ice cream..and now am feeling better.. any of you have tips as to what I shoudl do when I see him tomorrow????

prncssfce9 Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Sorry I just have to chime in here because I swear I have lived this!!! My advice to you .... act TOTALLY normal with him, as if it didn't happen. Don't let him see that he is driving you crazy. It will likely make him insane to think YOU don't care. Or, one better would be to tell him you have a date ... or if you have a guy friend he has never met, walk around kinda flirty with him! It will drive 18 year old boy mad. Boys are not as complex as we girls like to think ... I figured this out and it has made me a much saner person. Boys like things they can't have .... this explains the swim suit models ... Heather Graham pictures, sports car movies etc. If he KNOWS you want him, you lose your appeal. If you act like you don't care ... or don't want him it will make him crazy to get you. LIke I said ... very simple creatures ... give it a try and let me know if you have any success!!
