jam67 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I've been on this site a few years ago, since then I was basically single the entire time, until about 7 months ago. I met this girl, and things went awesome from the get go. We got along well, had a lot in common etc, etc. No need to bore you with the details bc everyone thinks their relationship is great. Things progressed nicely, we didn't really argue, had alot of fun together, enjoyed our company. However one thing bothered me all along. Unlike myself who had been single for a few years after my last LTR, she had gotten out of a 4 year relationship about 8 months before we met. This made me apprehensive, but I figured who cares, just gotta roll with it. She had been in long term relationships most of her life, and hadn't had much time being single. She expressed concerns about this along the way, but kept on anyway. So, we broke up today. I sort of saw it coming, she had been pulling away in the past few weeks to a month. She told me the truth, that she wasn't ready for a relationship and needed to see what she wanted in life. I understand that, and have been in similar situations with other girls. I guess the moral of the story is timing is everything. I think if we met a year or two from now it would've worked out. I'm not really looking for advice, or sitting here pretending there will be a reconciliation. I just wanted to vent and I'm sure others can relate. It sucks for sure, but at the same time I can see her point of view, and understand that I'm not at fault. It's just a part of life people need to experience. A single life, without an identity through a relationship. I've had that for many years, and unfortunately she hasn't. So, moral of the story is timing is everything guys, so don't hate on the dumpers too much.
tiarakitty Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 My ex-bf broke up with me for the same reason. He's 19 this year, except I was his first love. Timing is indeed everything. I know its hard…. but lets hope that things will get better for you and I. It's been 3 months since the break up
