So on a part-time basis I work at a grocery store, in produce. It's pretty chill and I work with cool people. And it's beats sitting in front of the TV, mindless, not making money.

While working I always see beautiful women coming in the section, as you would suspect. Ice breakers are so simple because saying "hey" is part of my job. Then from there I always get a smile and I usually say something personal about them and we engage in conversation. I can always look busy and still give them my attention. It's perfect. There are so many lines I can use it's ridiculous. Playfully be like "was this you who knocked over my perfect mountain of tomatoes?!"... Something playful and fun, because well it makes my job more fun too.

So, I'll talk to these women for a solid 1 or 2 minutes, then leave them be. But Their body language is always stellar, they smile, laugh, seem genuinely interested, etc... Then I'm always left with not asking for their number because I feel it's unprofessional. The last thing I want to do is offend a woman, and have her tell my boss... That would be brutal and make me look bad. Though, at the same time, some connections are awesome, and I feel like it's a missed possibility for something more..

My question is this: How can I approach and talk to women while at work and get their numbers without getting in possible sh*t from management. Or is it entirely too risky and I should just focus on work?

This job has shown me how easy it is to approach women. You can say just about anything. So all male readers... Stop fretting and just say something! Obviously in a fun, healthy, happy manner. Teasing works best.

If you ask for the # politely & take no's graciously, management shouldn't have a problem. If you stalk the women around the store or make it so uncomfortable that they shop elsewhere or report you, that will be an issue.
