LuvsTrucks2 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Just curious, doe anyone have a LDR that was initiated from a dating site? If so, what made you decide to try the LDR? 2
LittleTiger Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 We had an incredible connection online, so we arranged to spend time together IRL...and when we met for real, that was it! Decision made. We fit together like a hand in a glove. Almost five years on and still going strong! 1

Zeurich Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Nice pink cab. I met one or two guys from online dating site. Both are fake. So nothing much I can say.
LittleTiger Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 LittleTiger: How long is your distance from one another and how often do you see one another? When we met we were 12,000 miles apart (almost 20,000 km). He was in New Zealand, I was in the UK. I'm still in the UK and he now works on the East side of Australia so we've reduced that distance to about 10,000 miles. He spends five or six months of the year, in total, in the UK with me and I usually spend about six weeks of the year over there with him. When we're apart we Skype for an hour in the morning and an hour before bed. It's a unique situation and we're lucky we can do things this way. The beginning was much harder as we had less money and couldn't see each other for almost a year at one point. It's all been totally worth it though. We're good together (and apart) and we're very happy. I'd rather have him thousands of miles away for large chunks of time than be in a relationship with someone who wasn't so "perfect' for me. 3
HeavenOrHell Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Yes, I was in an LDR for 4 years with someone I met through a dating site, not a conventional dating site as such, I've never joined POF or any of the well known conventional ones, I joined a couple which were more alternative and where I was more likely to meet someone like minded, I didn't expect to meet someone though as I'm very fussy and I'm unconventional, and don't expect people to be into me either as I'm unconventional. He got in touch with me, 800 miles apart different countries, I am phobic about flying, so I wouldn't have got involved withs someone I could only reach by plane, that would be pointless for me, I went to see him by train. We got together because we were special to each other, we clicked, felt at ease with each other, were like minded, had a lot in common and loved spending time together, and enjoyed our daily contact, we had a hell of a lot of chemistry and didn't want anyone else. I'd do it again with the right person, if the circumstances were right, I don't regret a minute of my LDR even though it was very hard at times. Just curious, doe anyone have a LDR that was initiated from a dating site? If so, what made you decide to try the LDR?
HeavenOrHell Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I saw my partner about every 6-7 weeks for 5 days or for 1-3 weeks. LittleTiger: How long is your distance from one another and how often do you see one another?
Author LuvsTrucks2 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 Thanks everyone for sharing. I know it's a lot of investment to do a long distance relationship, but I think I might be willing to give it a try, we'll see how things progress.
