iDrumKing Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I have an older sibling (sister) whom I've never had a close relationship with. She is 25 married to a doctor, has a well paying job, and lives in the most expensive part of Georgia. I'm 21 still in school figuring my life out... To her I'm slacking... I'm aware that I probably made more bad decisions in the past than she ever did, but that doesn't mean that I'm not trying to be proactive now. The only thing she uses to judge me is my failures. I have goals, ambitions, and many other things that she doesn't really care about. For example, I've been in the music program for all 4 years of my High School career. Never once did she come home from college to watch me perform. Whenever I ask for help these days, she never fails to respond in a very condescending way. The older I get, the more I realize that we just aren't on the same page. Would it be out of the ordinary to not have a close relationship with her throughout my life? Sure whenever she has children, I'll be the best uncle those kids could ask for. Sure I'll be very cordial around her. There won't be a grudge held either. Just an understanding that we are two completely different people...
