charlo Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I'm not sure if this is a weird question or not but my boyfriend and I live about 40 minutes away from each other on the train, and he's been working a lot recently and I wanted to surprise him by going to see him. We don't get to see each other much because of distance etc. and in a month he's moving away for 9 months. We've spoken about surprise visits before and he seemed to think it was funny and cute but I'm not sure whether it's actually okay to turn up unannounced in reality, or whether he was just joking around about it. I did some googling and a lot of people (especially guys) seem to resent their partners visiting them uninvited. Just wondered what other peoples opinions are on it. Just for some background info, we've been a couple for nine months now, so it's by no means a new relationship/just dating.
Els Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Eh, I necessarily don't see anything wrong with you showing up uninvited at his house given the length of time you've been together. Just don't expect him to ditch previous plans for you, and don't be unhappy if you end up traveling all that way only to sit at his house while he goes out for Guys Night. Also definitely do not show up uninvited at his workplace.
d0nnivain Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Since you have previously discussed the concept & he reacted favorably, I say go for it.
