Should I feel depressed that I still live in the same city that I grew up in?

Most of the people that I went to high school/college have moved away right after finishing school. They either moved because of their jobs or had settled down, or just wanted to move. I live in a decent sized city, so its not like I live in a small town, but seeing them living in a different state kind of makes me feel down for some odd reason. I just have my parents and a sibling living here, a majority of my relatives live out of the country. I have been thinking about moving, since I'm single and have no kids, back to the east coast where I was born-not raised in, but I think that would be tough knowing that I don't have any close friends, I don't know anyone and I don't even have a partner to move there with. The whole thing about finding a job/a place of my own would be hard to get around. Do you some of you still live in the same city you grew up in and how do you feel about that?

Yeah, I can see your point, living in a different environment is always good. But when I tell people that I want to move to another state, like I tell them some of the reasons, starting fresh, starting a new life, meeting different kinds of people they immediately give me a "10-minute" lecture as to why its not a good idea if I'm just moving to get "away from my problems" because they will just follow me around everywhere I go. They get kind of defensive. Does that even make sense? Or maybe its best that I keep my dreams to myself...

I read something a few years ago that said something like 70% of Americans live within 50 miles of where they went to High School.

If you don't like where you live move. Otherwise don't worry about it.

I don't know why something like that should bother you .

I mean, I've lived in the same suburb for 22 years. I love it here.
