How open-minded are you when it comes to dating?

Obviously there are some things you don't want in a relationship, e.g. someone may not want egotistical people, or selfish individuals etc. but how often do people limit themselves within a "box" when it comes to physical and personality types?

I'd consider myself it as I'm open to dating another race, someone who may have had different experiences from me etc. or willing to try new activities/hobbies with them , within reason.

One source said:

An open minded person would be less judgemental of other peoples differences or preferences. Probably willing to try new things and enoys life.
I would say I was fairly open-minded; I scored as "Open-Minded" on this site ,which is worth a look; I am not affiliated with this site, by the way.

From my own research on this, people seem to think it's about whether you're open-minded sexually, but I'm looking at whether you're open-minded when it comes to relationships.

So, what are you like when it comes to this area? And, no, not sexually, just in the area of dating, in case anyone got the title of this wrong.

I am extremely open minded.

I date all races and cultures, I am open to 10 years younger to 10 years older, of all education or no education, of all social status, and of all financial situation. I date 'human beings', not a career, not a diploma, and not a wallet.

Open-minded......

I am a that has always dated outside of my race, and actually lean towards people that aren't my race

I am not open-minded about pets (cats and dogs), and think it's a shame when some people compromise for the sake of sex. I won't be happy in a relationship that has pets because dogs and cats don't fit into my lifestyle, but it seems every woman that is single or has just split up, has a dog or cat

I dislike humans as a species and prefer to date aliens, which is as far out of the box as you can get. My wife comes from Omicron Persei 8.

When it comes to relationships I am not open minded at all. But I prefer to call it... standards.

I would not date someone who is overweight, mentally ill, unemployed, clingy, uneducated, unfaithful, dishonest, has a lot of debt, lives too far away, doesn't share my values, is very religious, doesn't share any interests, drinks too much, takes drugs, can't string a sentence together or has ever used the phrase "yolo" in a non-sarcastic manner.

Hey mate......Ahahahahaha.....This is my line, and to add to the latter part, I wouldn't date anyone who's idea of being active is spending time on social media (facebook, twitter, pinetrest etc)

Furthermore, I can't stand the teenager speak of ..."I was like", "It's like", "Like seriously", like like like

I would say I'm fairly open minded. I'll give most people a chance. Ethnicity does not matter..

The only things I will write off as not interested.

Political beliefs that are the opposite of mine. I have very strong political beliefs. I tried dating someone with polar opposite beliefs. When elections hit we would have intense discussions. It finally lead to argument in which we both felt the other was stupid.

I'm not religious and used to not care. But I've again have had issues. They push their beliefs on me hoping to save me. It drives me nuts.

Drug use including pot. I don't care if they occasionally smoke some weed. But I wont date pot heads. It's a different life style and an addiction. Their life revolves around it and it gets old.

Vegans are another I'm hesitant to date. I dated one and it made meals/eating out fairly complicated.

I like Gaeta's answer and agree with everything she said ! I too have dated much older, younger, poor, rich, highly educated successful and blue collar.

I guess we all have deal breakers though. Mine are being overweight, I just have never been able to find that attractive and am very slim myself, and young kids, no baby mama drama for me !

I could care less about facial features or skin colors. But there are some other factors that are important to me; I'm both petite and thin so dating someone overweight just isn't for me (besides, I do like sports, and not just watching it from a sofa). Education is difficult; while I personally doubt that school certificates can plainly dictate who's intelligent and who's not, I need someone I can talk to, without having to explain the whole topic to them first only to have them say "Yeah yeah, I share your views on this" just because they don't want to even deal with it any further.

I'm not above finances either I'm afraid. I love travelling, I love eating outside of home. Frankly laying down on a car and watching a pretty sunset would do, but I can't date the homeless beggar from under the bridge.
