are you allowed to go to a movie with a man even if you are below the age of consensuality?

 

or does it still count as being his girlfriend and against the law?

 

i'm not sure actually if i'm below the age, but i'm almost 17 (i turn 17 on 7th august) and i live in melbourne.

17 is legal in Melbourne anyway. The age of consent in Australia is 16.

wow that's a relief! my mum said it was 18 but she said she had not checked the law but just thought it was lol.

not that i go to bed with boyfriends anymore anyway :laugh:

Additionally, is he married and why is it that you can't date boys your age?

he's not married and not too older 29.

i only want to see a movie with him so its a friend date.

i actually just had a bf that i broke up with and my male friend is helping me feel better because i am still in love with my bf but had to break up because he was only into sex.

I'm 29 and my best friend is 21. We are of the same gender. There is nothing that a 17 year old could offer me besides babysitting services. Your girlfriends should be the ones helping you get over your ex, not some man that is nearly twice your age.

 

The guy wants to bone you and is talking to you while you're in an emotionally vulnerable state to get in your pants. You're only fooling yourself if you think otherwise. I know guys in their late twenties and early thirties and if any of them were to date a 17 year old, they'd be labeled a creep. Because what he's doing is wrong, and inappropriate.

 

None of us will be able to change your mind but be aware. You're so young. He's going to want to get into your pants. Make sure you use protection and yes, depending on your laws, he could catch a statutory rape charge. You are not of legal age.
