Also, you may want to do some more research on herpes before writing second guy off:laugh:. As stated, 50-80% of adults have oral herpes. It's usually not std related. A cold sore doesn't automatically mean someone has an std. It's rare that an hsv1 outbreak was caused from oral sex actually. I have no stds, but occasionally when I'm sick, or stressed, will get a cold sore or two on my lip. There's a picture of me as a kid where I had a cold sore, never sexually related. What Causes a Cold Sore? HSV-1 is very common. If you have it, chances are you picked it up when you were a kid — most likely from close contact with someone who has it or getting kissed by an adult with the virus. How people get herpes around their mouth A person with HSV-1 (herpes simplex type 1) can pass it to someone else by: Kissing. Touching the person’s skin, such as pinching a child’s cheek. Sharing objects such as silverware, lip balm, or a razor. I've also read you can get it from surfaces such as touching a doorknob. If you are worried, just bring it up before you kiss or get ssexually active. Can't be a bad thing to show test results before sex.
