NiCoLe20 Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 '' Taking the contraceptive pill appears to change women's taste in men. Psychologists have found that women who are taking the pill tend to fancy macho types w/ strong jaw lines and prominent cheekbones. Women whore are not taking that form of contraception seem to be more likely to go for more sensitive types w/o traditionally masculine features. The researchers, from St. Andrews and StirlingUniversities in Scotland, belive it may even be possible that taking the pill encourages women to have relationships with inappropriate men. They presented women w/ images of different types of men, and asked them to pick out potential long term partners. They found those taking the pill were more likely to choose macho men, and to rate men with more feminine, softer physical features as a turnoff. However, the researchers say it is these men who tend to be more sensitive, and more likely to making trustworthy and faithful husbands. They proved more popular among women not taking the pill who took part in the study. The researchers belive that the key may be the fact that the pill blocks the natural process of ovulation. As women who take the pill cannot become pregnant, they are subconsciencly attracted to sexy, macho men, rather than to men who are most likely to make a sensible long term mate. **Lead researcher Tony Little said: '' Whem a woman chooses her partner while she is on the pill, and then comes off it to have a child, she may find she is married to the wrong man.'' '' Intresting huh? thats something to think about lol!! i have been on the pill the past 2 yrs and havent been in a long term relationship, i have stopped taking it about a month ago and i see a potential long term relationship w/ this new guy... it might be true!

Pocky Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 Quite a few spelling errors. Where is a link to the actual article?
blind_otter Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 That seems odd. I wonder if it's true for the NuvaRing, or the patch, or alternative forms of hormonal contraceptives, of for those who get the DepoProvera shot? That said, I have found myself to be exactly the opposite. Off the pill I am a moron who likes macho guys. On the pill I like more sensitive intelligent men. Who knew? Maybe it's all the other medication. hah.

d'Arthez Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 Or on the part of the jerky men: "Hey I am supposed to screw women up. " And on the part of the nice guys: "When they finally decide they want to procreate and are of their BC and are single ... OMG I am sexually dead."
