Slept with ex bf.. Lost

My ex & I recently slept together a few times. We dated for 8 years.

I didn't speak to him after the break up for almost a year. I was devestated. He kept trying to contact me ( changed my #) anyways I finally started talking to him. ( he kept trying & I really missed him)

Fast forward :

We were at a mutual friends party last month & had a huge talk. He told me he was scared to get back together but still had feelings for me.

& that nobody will ever understand us. He grabbed my face & kissed me & told me I'm a roller coaster.??

 

He texts me all the time. Sometimes a few days go by but he always reestablishes contact with me somehow about something. (I do not text him otherwise)

I don't want to pressure him or freak him out so I haven't said anything regarding our relationship since that talk.

Please give advice & opinions. I do love him still but he broke my heart & I'm afraid. Does anyone understand what he's doing? Men please give me your thoughts.

I'd make him put all his feelings on the table and if he hedges once, just once on being everything for you, I'd never speak to him again.
