So, my ex and I broke up two years ago. I tried to move on and date. First girl I dated was a real winner, only I wasn't expecting that, and I wasn't over my ex. I was always very open with this woman (maybe too much) and she knew I wasn't over ex.

So we kept seeing each other for almost a year. ANd though we were not seeing anyone else, there was no talk of living together etc. And there was always talk of my ex....my fault, I know. I just wanted to always be honest with her, so I told her too many of my feelings. So.... she broke up with me months ago.

The thing is we never stopped talking or even hanging out. The only thing that is different than when we dated is that we don't sleep together. We cuddle, etc. She said we broke up because I wasn't over my ex, and because I didn't have a desire to live together.

So, my question is... is there anyway to get back together or are we just going to stay this way until one of us dates someone else?

I really do like her as a person, and I am also attracted to her. It is just hard to get too emotionally attached because 1) I still hurt over ex and 2) she makes it soooo hard to get attached when she is so hot and cold.

We are getting ready to spend a week together on vacation. I assume it is just as friends, but she really acts like she likes me.. I don't know.

I guess how can your guys know, when her and I can't even figure it out...lol

You have to decide - spend time getting over your ex (alone of course) or put all thoughts of your ex behind you and make a go of your present relationship. Given that your ex is, err, your "ex" I know what I would do.

Although when I was in a similar situation I pined after my ex for ages and ages, then one day I just said to myself "this is stupid, snap out of it" and I made sure to make the most of future experiences.

Don't give your ex and power over you by wasting a moment's thought on them.

Try to get over your ex first. Some therapy will help you, a counselor I mean.

She's right in breaking up with you.

I think she did the absolute right thing for breaking up with me. She didn't need to be in something she was not comfortable with.

Why do you think she is still so receptive of all the physical stuff, cuddling, kissing etc? But no sex... so it is not even A FWB case...
