Controversial Perhaps me putting this into the recently broken up section.

But

If you could only love once would you have waited?

Yes.

I don't know that I ever really loved before my husband. I think I thought I loved them but I really had no idea. In hindsight, I see my love was actually crushes and limerence and the release of oxytocin. I remember my first love, so intense and time consuming. I hung on his every word and couldn't wait until I saw him again. Now I can't even remember what he looked like and think he is a pedophile pervert for going after a twelve year old when he was twenty. We never had sex or did anything but kiss and hold hands but that just goes to show you that we can think we love someone when we really don't. It was the worst breakup of my life because I was a child and because I had nothing to compare it to. Now it makes me want to vomit.

Seeing as how my first marriage ended in divorce....most definitely.

No. Never. I would never ever regret having loved and loved fiercely. Even if I never found that again, it was worth feeling it once. :)

The reason I say no, is because I value other things. I do very much value companionship. My views on marriage, and children, and life in a normal traditional sense, is not so much important anymore. Can I love again? Probably not like I did.

If it meant that I had a chance with the same partner, but the chance was "different" because I was more mature and in a better place to help make the relationship work? Yes.

If it meant that I would have to wait until the next person came along? No. I'm still waiting on that, and you know what Tom Petty says about that.
