For those you married or currently in long term relationships, did you feel those sparks after the first kiss or makeout session you had with your significant other? Did you have that giddy feeling after it was done?

If not after the first time, then how soon after that?

From what I can remember, the first kiss as you describe it, is kind of a big deal with "the one".

On the flip side, went on date last Friday, first meeting, met online, we made out for an hour at the end of the date - and I don't even want to see her again lol - so yes, there is a difference!

Are you trying to find out if you really like this girl, because you dont know your feelings?

A lot of people are different.

I have a calm calculated demeanor, so when I kissed my significant other for the first time, I knew it was going to happen. I was more like "Aw, nice", but I wasnt giddy or nervous.

This seems like a really feminine question for some reason.

Is OP a girl?

No offense, it might be a different feeling for the genders

Reading this posting about a recent dating experience, it appears the OP is a male.

For myself, each experience was different. With the lady I married, the 'sparks' grew over time. I think that's more reflective of personal style rather than gender. If reactions were any guide, I'd call it trending to outlier, as the ladies appeared to be more used to men who had marked and rapid sparking going on; a defined and immediate 'giddyness'.

Yes, I felt sparks after my first kiss with my SO. I was dizzy after our first time making out. I still get these sparks and butterflies sometimes, especially when he gives me a surprise kiss.

But no spark all for my ex.

I'm a guy. Had a second date with a girl. We made out for a bit and I felt absolutely nothing. It was lIke whatever. I can tell she's more into this than I am. Part of it is she just moved to town and doesn't know anyone so she really wants to meet someone. If I didn't see again I probably wouldn't care. I'm trying to balance giving something a chance vs. getting out at the right time.

Well, that's hardly a story to tell the grandkids is it?

I think this is a sign that you're just not into her, and it's probably best to move on.

You have enough information to know you aren't interested. Continuing to date at this point is stringing her along and getting her hopes up for no reason. I would just move on.
