alexwood Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 golfing 9 holes(she has mentioned she would go) and then a picnic after? would subway be stupid for a picnic?
CarrieT Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I'm a golfer and I would still start with mini golf. With regular golf, there is too much time apart - walking towards one's ball. For a first date, you want to chat and interact and that can be done better on a mini golf course. And, yes, a subway sandwich would be stupid. Picnic food can be a good baguette, cheese, some berries, cold cuts, and a little dessert. 1

deathandtaxes Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Golfing for a first date? Atrocious idea. The picnic idea isn't worth commenting about. I like the mini-golf idea for a SECOND date, though, not a first. If this is a date idea well after the first date, I still wouldn't go golfing. That's more of a buddy-type activity. Picnics are always nice, though. But a bit too intimate for a first date. Be specific about which number date, OP.
pteromom Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 It really depends on the girl. Some girls would love golf or mini-golf, and some would not. Some would be just fine with Subway for lunch, and others would think you are a cheapskate. If you don't yet know what her feelings are on these two points, err on the side of caution and stick to something very neutral (coffee shop, dinner at a nicer restaurant, etc.) Assuming of course that this is a first date.
Keenly Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 or maybe mini golf instead Mini golf is my go to first date. It only lasts about an hour, has plenty of opportunity for conversation whether is competitive, people watching, or any number of things that come up mid game. When its done I can decide if I want to extends the date or bail.
Diezel Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Mini golf is like a Date 3/4 for me. I usually do a round of drinks or two for #1. Sometimes you just need that social lubricant to ease the nerves. But if you must, mini-golf is better than regular golf for a date.

Zahara Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 well mini golf is 30 mins away so wed do thta then come back to my town and go on the picnic..i cnat take the food with me out of town(food poisoning) Do the mini-golf and get a light lunch somewhere and save the picnic for another date. You don't have to cram it all in one date.
Author alexwood Posted July 18, 2014 Author Posted July 18, 2014 Huh? I don't understand that... cnat take sandwiches.......like meat/ no..food poisoning
GemmaUK Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 cnat take sandwiches.......like meat/ no..food poisoning You won't get food poisoning from taking some food out of town. Have you heard of packed lunches and actual picnics? If she likes golf play golf. I would find out whether she means actual 9/18 hole golf or mini golf though - vastly different things!
