Wondering if his stand up reason is true...

If a guy wants to make excuses for why he didn't turn up to a date, they don't need a neck brace or a car accident. In fact, if they're not interested, they probably wouldn't go through the trouble of finding a pic with a bloody neck brace hehe what's the point?

 

Seriously. Who on earth would go through that kind of trouble and spin that kind of tale if all they wanted to do was break off a first date??

 

"Honest I ran out of gas, I had a flat tire, I didn't have enough money for cab fare, my tux didn't come back from the cleaners, an old friend came in from outta town, someone stole my car, there was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locusts, it wasn't my fault I swear to god!"

The story is quite elaborate, and such as it is, I would give him the benefit of the doubt just this time. Take him up on another date if he initiates, and upon seeing him, there will be an opportunity to gauge whether or not his story holds up. If you feel it doesn't, excuse yourself from the date early.

I find it strange because you're gut is telling you something is off. Almost always it's right. Also strange because you text, call AND email him but he responds with a selfie/excuse by text instead of a phone call.

 

I once asked to cook dinner for a guy I was casually seeing on his birthday. He said sounds good I'll have to see if I'm working. Nothing more was said about it because I didn't want to seem pushy. He never told me yes or no but come the day of his birthday he randomly sends me 2 pictures that evening of himself obviously working. WEIRD. Telling me he was working a 24 hour shift, ect. Gotta make that money to take you out or some other BS.

 

Long story short, he had a girlfriend already. There were red flags everywhere and I just didn't listen. If I were you I'd still go on the first date just to see if the guy just has bad luck but if there was one more red flag.... RUN!!!!!
