Plan a first meet-up/date with a girl from tinder. Going to get ice cream. Just beforehand, she texts "I'm with my friend derpet, do you mind if she comes?"

What would you do?

For a date? uhm no..

One of my coworkers told me that's what she does. She brings a friend "just in case". In case of what? If the guy is out to rape her, that's not going to happen in an ice cream parlor.

Absolutely not.

Bringing a friend is completely inexcusable.

"Yeah I do mind. I was hoping it would be just the two of us."

That would be a chaperoned date ok for younger people not really necessary for mature thinkers..if you dont really know the person you are dating somewhere public in plain sight is relatively safe..deb

If this was pre planned and then all of a sudden shes just with her friend, that pretty much shows you the level of seriousness she is willing to put into this meeting.

Safety in numbers,it's a good idea when meeting a stranger

If you don't feel comfortable meeting some one, you don't meet them.

When you're meeting somebody at an ice cream shop?

No.

When a girl goes with a friend to meet a guy at a date it puts him at a huge disadvantage.

I went through that once with a girl I really liked, and it was the worst date in my entire life.

Frankly if a girl doesn't feel comfortable enough to be alone with a guy, then she simply should not make plans to do so. The whole mind if my friend comes along thing is BS and a sign of immaturity.

Guys.. what about if you're dating someone and invite some friends? I like to have everyone included. I asked my girlfriend and she said she doesn't mind at all, but I am sort of unsure (new to dating)

For instance, we were planning on doing something before I left. I suggested a baseball game, and she said that sounds fun. I asked if some of my friends could join us, and she said she didn't care, so we ended up with a big group. She kept saying how great of a time it was, so I guess that's my answer right there... but reading these posts make me think otherwise?

How old are you guys? How well do you know each other

I took a friend on my first date with a guy. Was scared, I was 22. Didn't really know him and didn't want to be alone with him right away. Yes, my first ever date.

Don't assume the worst.

If you didn't know him, and dint' want to be alone with him; why did you accept the date?

I was young and had never been shown attention by a man. He was charming and good looking.

Also had a hard time taking him serious, believing that he could really like me. Thinking maybe he was just playing with me. I was very insecure. Still am a bit.

Spent the summer riding around in his 56 Chevy after that first date. :)

Love the responses haha. So I went... Cause I was curious.

Showed up, thought I saw a girl that looked like her and another girl at a table, but they already had ice cream, so I thought it wasn't her. Stand in line, look back and see the two girls darting (sneaking) behind the building. Get a text saying she's at a table in front of a neighboring restaurant. Sure enough, as I'm pulling out to leave, eating my ice cream, I see the same two girls out on the restaurant patio.

No idea what they were thinking, but it was a hilarious story to tell to my mates at the bar shortly after. And the ice cream was delicious. :p Dark chocolate like you wouldn't believe :3

Moral of the story: even if you think it's going to be a bad date, go for the lulz.
