oberkeat Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I came to work this morning and found in my mailbox an invitation to a co-worker’s wedding. I'm happy for her. She's a wonderful person; she’s always been pretty nice to me, and I think if anyone deserves to happy, it’s her. But at the same time, as I look at the envelope (they obviously spared no expense with these invitations – it’s pretty fancy) I’m finding myself becoming a little bitter about my own lack of success with dating, as sick as that sounds. This little card seems to represent what I’ve tried and failed to attain, and it makes me shut down a little. Is this feeling normal, and what should I do about it?
d0nnivain Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Other people's weddings used to get me down too. On the bright side, weddings can be a good place to meet new people.
Gaeta Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 It's normal, it does the same to me and it passes. Don't think about it as you failed at it but as it being delayed. When it happens to you you will appreciate it even more.
